Dr. Jaqueline M Worth and Dr. Elizabeth Kavaler with Total Urology Care of New York discuss treatments and the stigma surrounding pelvic organ prolapse in episode 4 of “A Girls Gotta Know” by Sneha Physical Therapy & Talking Back Pictures.

Pelvic organ prolapse, a pelvic floor disorder, affects many women over their lifetime. It occurs when the muscles and tissues supporting the pelvic organs (the uterus, bladder, or rectum) become weak or loose. One or more of the pelvic organs can then drop or press into or out of the vagina. Sometimes women are embarrassed to talk to their doctors about these symptoms. However, pelvic organ prolapse is treatable.
