Nailah Dodd is a Certified Nurse Midwife. Originally from Seattle, Washington, she studied Public Health during her undergraduate education at Temple University. It was her work internationally in rural Egypt and Ethiopia with obstetric fistula patients prior to her undergraduate education that motivated her to become a Midwife. She completed her undergraduate research studying obstetric related trauma while also serving as a birth and abortion doula in Downtown Philadelphia.
She went on to pursue her Nursing and Midwifery education at Columbia University. As a previous clinical student at Metropolitan Hospital, she came to love the warm patient centered care and cohesive team of Met Midwives.
Nailah is honored to provide evidence based compassionate Midwifery care to patients and their families regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, and socioeconomic status. She seeks to empower patients and their families to be able to reflect on their birthing experience as a positive moment in their lives.
